Welcome to the world of Rebekah Meier!
Each and every day is the perfect blank canvas to create something new and exciting for yourself and for others!
Rebekah Meier is a mixed media artist, fiber art maker, author, designer, consultant, product designer, and teacher. And those are just a few of her accomplishments and passions throughout her life.
“It really has been a long journey from the start to where I am now. I have learned so much along the way. I started out as a reproduction doll maker (vintage Santas, rabbits, and Halloween), and sold them at art fairs and online, then licensing them.
After doing that for a while, I soon realized the potential of my designs and decided to create my very own line of patterns called Sweet Annie Pattern Company! Magazines started to like my work which led to many projects including home decor and seasonal decorations, with fabric, embroidery, sewing, and paint. Also, a wool felt embroidery line I designed.
With my background in fiber and the desire to spread my wings, I started adding paper and paint to my fabric creations. This pairing of fabric, paper, fiber, paint & ink, led to the start of my journey with mixed media and fabric art; The foundation for my Fabric Art Collage and More Fabric Art Collage books plus three other books.
Today, my work reflects those years of skills I have acquired, combining all to create my art. I am blessed to still being able to learn new techniques and develop some of my own. “
Rebekah not only educates and teaches her readers online, but she has also been a frequent guest on shows such as Quilting Arts TV and Make it Artsy both on PBS.
Rebekah believes that using all different outlets is a great way to keep the crafting world alive. Her advice and words can also be found in print in many magazines such as Cloth Paper Scissors, Somerset Studio, and Quilting Arts as well Create magazine UK, too.
But when it comes to her passions and knowledge, Rebekah truly loves to create. She has partnered and designed programs for companies to bring product lines to market and bring awareness to the crafting world. Some of her ideas that have come to fruition are because of programs developed with Fabric Elements with Fabric Editions, Foam Art Stamps with ArtFoamies, Rubber Stamps with Impression Obsession IO, Stencils with The Crafter’s Workshop, Mixed Media Adhesive line with Thermoweb.
And while Rebekah doesn’t like to toot her own horn, she’s also an Award winning designer for Fabric Elements from the 2015 CHA annual Trade show in category.
Her knowledge and passion for creativity was heightened when she worked as a design consultant with a company. Her duties included booth and project design for trade shows, and product models in support of sales to the major craft stores. She was in this role for 5 years and uses the information and knowledge daily in her life now.
Rebekah prides herself on creating quality designs and crafts that anyone can do. Her ability to break it down into easy-to-do steps is one way that her readers and audience form such a strong bond and connection with her.
